What does your contribution mean to our Bupa Great North Run team?

Wet, warm or otherwise – our team of fundraisers have been working extremely hard to train for the Bupa Great North Run 2014. With only a week left of preparations we hope that the rain stays off, the motivation remains high and the support continues to grow.

#GNRMillion has organised a world class opening ceremony for the event and as excitement for the challenge heightens, here is a reminder of why our runners are taking part…

Along with the support of his friends and family, one of our most loyal supporters David Jowett successfully puts together a great team each year. This inspiring group of volunteers are fundraising specifically for our flagship health initiative the Jennifer Brown Research Fund, a cause very close to their hearts. This fund supports our talented and dedicated team of scientists in the Jennifer Brown Research Laboratory who are currently advancing a range of exciting and pioneering new research projects that are making real progress towards resolving some of the life threatening complications that can arise during pregnancy for both mothers and babies. The work in the laboratory furthers understanding of what causes early labour, how we can develop treatments to prevent it, and how we can better help treasured tiny new-borns in those first crucial hours and days after birth.

Without this team’s hard work and dedication to support the Jennifer Brown Research Fund we could not continue to work towards making a brighter future for every child.
