Win a chance to have a Twitter masterclass with Sarah Brown

Up for School or #upforschool campaign

In this month’s Good Housekeeping magazine, Theirworld’s President Sarah Brown discusses how to make the most of Twitter and how social media can be a powerful tool for campaigning.

Sarah is co-founder of A World at School, a movement which often uses the power of technology as a way to amplify the voices of the millions of young people worldwide demanding urgent help for the 58 million children who don’t go to school. More than half of these are girls: girls who instead of learning are being trafficked and forced into marriage whilst still children, increasing the risk of dying in childbirth and their exposure to domestic violence.

For the month of December, anyone can enter a competition to win a Twitter masterclass with Sarah – whether you are new to it and don’t know where to start, or you’re an avid Tweeter looking to use Twitter to raise awareness about campaigns you believe in.

Simply tweet @hearstwomen using the hashtag #hearstempowers with a suggestion on how we might change the world for better for the next generation of girls. Sarah and Good Housekeeping magazine’s Editor-in-Chief Lindsay Nicholson will then pick the winner together.

Details: The deadline is midnight on 5th January 2015. Make sure you follow both @hearstwomen and @theirworld so you can be notified if you win. Theirworld is the charity partner of Hearst Magazines UK’s Hearst Empowering Women initiative. To find out more about this collaboration, click here.
